Is it harmful to the hamster if he smells perfume?...Is it okay to spray perfume on a hamster's cage?
I wouldn't know why you would want to spray it directly on the cage, but it could be harmful to the Hamster's respiratory system, and could have trouble breathing, and it could have a large risk of death. Is it okay to spray perfume on a hamster's cage?
Small animals, especially rodents have a much sharper sense of smell than humans. They have to to avoid predators in the wild. Pet rodents, hamsters, rats, etc have such a strong sense of smell they can smell scents we could never dream of smelling.
Perfume to your hamster would be like spilling a whole bottle on your shirt. It might not hurt it but it sure would be unpleasant for the little guy. If the cage has an unpleasant order just wash it well and use a bedding that absorbs urine. Changing it frequently should solve the problem
i have never tried it, and wouldn't! i have sprayed perfume on me when i first got my hamster as i didn't know they made such noise! LOL, i have had my hamster 1 year and that 2/3 times of spraying perfume around her has never affected her, but dont spray on her cage, guinea pigs are prone to respiratory diseases, hamsters and guinea pigs are both rodents so hamsters may suffer, i dont know.
Absolutely not! Clean the cage out once a week and it will keep the odor under control. Using perfume on a hamster is like animal testing! Oh and if you give your hamster a bath in the sink (yes you can) do not use soap, hot water or, cold water
It could be I would not try it. It could cause respiratory irritation. If you do want to spray it make it away from the cage and wave the fragrance toward the cage do not spray it directly at it
not really.
you shouldn't really spray any chemical when your hamster is in the room seeing as it is very harmful and your hamster will die if you spray it all the time.
I can't even believe this is a serious question. Obviously perfume contains lots of chemicals. Now do you really want that in your hamster's lungs?
No, it is not ok. How would you like it if you were as small as a hamster, and someone sprayed it on you?
NO it is not ok to spray perfume in a hamsters cage!
It can damage his/her eyes, and make him sick. It can also damage his skin
Hmmmmm i wouldn't just in case it chokes when it breaths it in. Like when you spray deodorant and you cough.
Yes, that's not a natural thing and would cause respiratory problems.
Try cleaning the cage instead.
i think too much purfume can be dangerous.i know it is with small birds...you might be able to buy a special scented and pet safe type of ';purfume at a local pet store
probably, well, YES!!!!!!!!!!!
hell yes! it kinda seems like common sense to me...
dont do that. you will kill your hamster
yes it could be harmfull for the hamster
