Then waited a bit before flipping on the switch? What would happen if you spray perfume or colon on a light bulb?
Cold lamp, you'd evaporate the alcohol and water in the perfume.
Hot lamp, you might crack it and flipping the switch would then burn out the filament. What would happen if you spray perfume or colon on a light bulb?
A magazine gave this tip to fill the room with perfume. I wanted to see if any chemist could verify or debunk this. Seems like it could work, sprayed when the light is off. Thanks for the answers. Report Abuse
Nothing would really happen. All perfumes and colones are designed to be ';volatile'; chemicals, or those that evaporate easily (that way you can smell it in the air). But, the warmer the chemical is the faster it evaporates. So, once you turn on the bulb, it will heat up the perfume on the surface and the perfume will quickly evaporate.
What you might be wondering is if you'll get fire or an explosion, which you might, but the conditions would have to be just right. I don't want to cause a fire or anything, so I won't tell you how to get that to happen ;)
If it is very hot, then it may crack and fuse. But on a bulb which is off, nothing happens,The sprayed liquid will evoperate slowly.
If you spray your colon on a lightbulb you might fall off the chair or singe some tender areas.
Ya. Dont think I would want to spray my oolon on a lightbulb. It would make a stinky mess, I would think.
